Obituary of Willa Frances Rathwell
November 15, 1921 - January 31, 2015
Suddenly yet peacefully, on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Huronview home, Clinton, in her 94th year. Loving wife for 72 years of the late Tom Rathwell (2014). She will be greatly missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lois Johnson of Mildmay, Joan (Don) Gower of Clinton and Beth (Paul) Rathwell-Kelly of Fergus; her grandchildren Paul (Jennifer) Johnson, Bryan (Lori) Johnson, Angela Merner, Ellen (Chris) Johnson, Colleen (Ian) Siertsema, and Emma Kelly; as well as her great-grandchildren Reese, Rowan, Gavin, Blake, Dylan, Curtis, Tanner, Brett, Taryn and Clay. Dear sister of Frank (Eileen) Potter, and sister-in-law of Arnold Rathwell. Fondly remembered by Jean Moore and Ruth Talbot. Predeceased by son-in-law Don Johnson (2006), parents Clarence and Edna (Powell) Potter, siblings and in-laws Ray (Jean) Potter, Joe (June) Potter, Betty (Tom) Moore, Ferne (Ron) Carter, Muriel (John) Grigg, Dorothy (John) Ostrom, Gordon (Helen) Rathwell, Edgar (Helen) Rathwell, Darcy (Madeleine) Rathwell, Eleanor (Bill) McAsh, Marjorie (Bob) Stirling, Verna Rathwell, Bob (Mary) Rathwell. Willa was a life-long resident of Goderich Township. Over the years, along with her dedication to family, Willa helped in her community and also volunteered her time at the Adult Day Centre. Visitation will be held at the FALCONER FUNERAL HOMES - Clinton Chapel, 153 High Street, Clinton, on Thursday, February 5, 2015, from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Elly Dow officiating. Spring interment, Bayfield Cemetery. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
