Obituary for Steve Taylor

Stephen Charles Taylor surrounded by his three sons and wife passed away peacefully at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich on December 27th, 2022.
Steve was born on February 18th, 1954 the third child of Jack & Myrtle Taylor of Brucefield.

Survived by his wife Cindy (Middleton) of 41 years and by his children Derek and Brittany (Tebbutt) of Goderich, Jamie and Tenille (McGregor) of Varna, and Devon of Brucefield. Loving grandpa of two sets of twins Cameron and Benson, and Jack and Cohen and cherished granddaughter Brette. Siblings Murray & Pat Taylor - Brucefield, Joan Taylor - Clinton, Marvin & Sheri Taylor - Seaforth, Bonnie & Wayne Pollock - Bayfield, Betty & Cliff Holland - Oil Springs, Marilyn & Randy Blake - Clinton, Alfie - Bayfield, Jackie & Bob Hart - Clinton. Son-in-law of Audrey Middleton - Clinton, Brother-in-law of Jim & Peggy Middleton - Clinton, Marnie & Grant Hoflinger - Waterloo, Paul & Vicki Middleton - Clinton, Fred Middleton & Donna Gerger - Clinton, Shelley & Dan Merner - Clinton. Also loved and missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Jack & Myrtle Taylor, father-in-law Don Middleton, sister-in-law Faith Taylor, niece Kaitlyn Merner, and nephew Jeffery Taylor.

Steve was a dedicated and patient farmer who got his strong work ethic from his parents. He could often be found sitting on the steps looking out the doorway of the small chicken barn. He cherished his 1976 Camaro. Steve was a proud hockey dad and grandpa and a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, and spending time at the cabin at Camp Smirnoff. Over the past three years Steve had been struggling with dementia which Cindy describes as the long goodbye.

At the family’s request cremation has taken place. Private family arrangements are entrusted to Falconer Funeral Homes - Clinton. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, December 30th, 2022 at 3 pm at the Huron Fish & Game Club, Clinton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Huron County, Huron Perth Junior Farmers, the Tanner Steffler Foundation or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
