It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mae Louise Ritchie of Blyth. Mae passed away peacefully on Thursday March 17, 2022 with family by her side. She was in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Mervin Charles Ritchie (2010). Mae was the loving mother of Ron & Liz Ritchie of Blyth, Gary & Joan Ritchie of Markham, Ken & Debbie Ritchie of Wingham, Terry & Cathy Ritchie of Bayfield, Karen & Dave Schieckoff of Bayfield, and Kevin Ritchie of Blyth. Mae will be missed by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Roy Dawson, Florence Machan and Murray & Sonja Dawson. Mae is predeceased by her parents Phil & Jenny Dawson, sisters Jean Nethery, Lois Dawson and brother Harold Dawson, her in-laws Matilda Dawson, Alex Nethery, Doug Machan, Lorne & Marg Ritchie, Harold & Irene Ritchie, Leonard & Bernadean Ritchie, Gordon & Lila Ritchie, and one granddaughter Nicole. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at the Royal Canadian Legion, Blyth Branch no. 420, 192 Dinsley St. Blyth on Saturday April 2, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Huron Residential Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
