Johanna Johnston passed into glory on Tuesday 25 April 2023 at the age of 86. The whole Knetsch family emigrated from Holland after WWII, in 1954. On 7 April 1956, Johanna married the love of her life, Charles Johnston (25 January 1932 - 9 April 2015), with whom she lovingly raised five children: Fred (m. Ingrid Wassink); Carolyn (m. Frank Van Boom); Rose (m. Del Tucker); Mark; and Charlene (m. Larry Otten). She is survived by thirteen loving grandchildren -- Jason (m. Erin); Calvin (m. Louisa); Danae (m. Enoch); Philip (m. Jessica); Andrew (m. Nicole); Jolene (m. Dwayne); Tymen; Ben (m. Caitlin); Caleb (m. Leigh-Anne); Luke; Johanna (m. Wesley); Hannah, and Honour – and twenty-one loving great-grandchildren.

“Charlie and Joanne” together created and ran Johnston Cycle Shop in Stratford before retiring to Goderich, where they had first met. An avid reader, puzzler, and volunteer, Johanna is now reunited with her dear husband in the house of their Lord and Saviour. She will be greatly missed by her church community and by her many friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday 28 April from 5:30 -7:30 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday 29 April at Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 245 Mill Road, Goderich.
