Obituary for Gay Reynolds

REYNOLDS, GAY (nee McTAGGART) Gay Reynolds was born on June 16, 1941, in Clinton, Ontario; Gay passed away at home, on August 4, 2021, in Bayfield, Ontario. She will be deeply, profoundly missed by her husband of 59 years, Spence Reynolds, whom she met at Etobicoke Collegiate in the fifties. They spent their married life in Winnipeg, Montreal and Mississauga and retired to their favourite place in the world, Bayfield, Ontario. Gay's three children and eight grandchildren will find that life will never be the same without her. She treasured her daughter, Kelly Matush, and son-in-law Jerry (Spencer, Brayden and Charly), her son, Brad Reynolds and his wife, Jayne (Mitchell and Payton), and her son Kevin Reynolds, and his wife Barbara (Amanda, Jason and Ethan). Gay's sister Judy Keating, and brother, Gordon McTaggart, will find that there is a hole in their lives and their families' lives without Gay – she was someone that everyone loved and cared about, a fixture in the family. Overall, a great loss. Gay had many happy times in her eighty years, and her family and friends will cherish the times spent with her through many years and the fun and sometimes silly memories, especially on the golf course. Her loves were easy – Spence, her family and friends, golden retrievers, the bridge club, golf and tennis, shopping for gifts, decorating, rye and ginger cocktails, yummy desserts, pretty clothes, good books and TV, including the long-running soap opera, "The Young and the Restless". A small family gathering will be held in the near future, and a Celebration of Life is planned for a later date. Gay died of heart failure, and in lieu of flowers, the family would like any donations directed to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a local charity of your choosing.
